I was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland where my parents and brother still live. I have sister who now lives in England.
I was raised in the Presbyterian church but attended only because that was what my parents expected of me at the time. After going through a rebellious period as a teenager I was wooed into a relationship with Jesus in 1986. It was immediately after this time that I knew I was being called into ordained ministry.
After visiting Minnesota in 1987 I always knew I would return some day and in 1991 I served an internship at Hope Church. In 1992 I put my seminary studies on hold so I could train with Tentmaker's Youth Ministry and served the next three years at Anoka United Methodist Church.
In 1995 I married Jenny and my life was firmly established in the United States. After graduating seminary in 1997 our first daughter was born, number two would come in 1998 and number three in 2005. Following seminary I spent the next three years selling phone service with US West before accepting a call to pastor Randolph Heights Presbyterian in St. Paul, MN.
After four years at Randolph Heights I accepted a call to move to Centreville, VA to serve as their Associate Pastor. My major focus at Centreville was on Adult Discipleship and Mission.
As of May, 2009 I have been serving as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church, White Bear Lake, MN.
