There appears to be a tremendous amount of animosity between Ken Silva/John McArthur and Tony Jones/Doug Pagitt. Just click on their names and you'll get a sense for some of what is going on!
I suppose its the fundamentalist/emerging church "dialogue" and there are certainly many others getting involved in the fights. The problem is that its becoming (become) an all out battle that is being waged in the public arena and not in the church.
It strikes me that the fundamentalist side is using straightforward aggression and the emergent response is passive aggressive in it nature. I'm not asking these guys to agree with one another but please, for the sake of the kingdom sit down and talk privately about the issues you have with each other, a five minute CNN debate is not the place to do this.

Search the web and you will find all sort of accusations out there.
I think there is more than just a modernist/postmodernist issue here, there is more than a fundamentalist/liberal issue here, there are questions about Christology, soteriology, justification, authority of Scripture and others that need to be fleshed out in these conversations.
The paradigm has changed the truth has not, but how we explain and communicate that truth has changed... but let's make sure we don't change the truth.
